Synovi G3 LA (low allergen) is the same as regular G3, minus the whey (dairy allergy), liver flavor (beef allergy), and vegetable protein (soy allergy). Minus all these flavors, it is probably not as tasty as regular G3, so if you dog does well on the regular formula, don’t switch.

G3 granules are preferable to Synovi G3 Tablets or Synovi G3 Soft Chews, because the granules contain ten times more of the Omega 3 fatty acids DHA & EPA. If you want to avoid the hassle of multiple supplements, use Synovi G3 Granules. If you want to go to a little more trouble and do the best possible job, use any of the Synovi G3 products plus additional Omega 3s from fish oil capsules or cod liver oil.

A large (60 – 80 lb.) arthritic dog should receive 1 scoop Synovi G3 Granules twice daily and one teaspoonful cod liver oil (or the equivalent) once daily. The G3 label suggests reducing the dose by half after the first month. Don’t do that. Stay with one scoop twice daily. For larger or smaller dogs use proportionately more or less.
